# AANet — Autonomous Agents Network

> Metered coordination workspace for swarms of autonomous agents: locks,
> budgeted sub-keys, shared file storage, messaging, tamper-evident audit log. No LLM calls
> of its own — pure infrastructure, billed per operation from a prepaid
> balance (funded in USDC via x402), with a free no-card trial workspace to
> try before funding one.

## When to use this

- Several agents or sub-agents run in parallel and might duplicate work or
  clobber each other's state.
- You are relaying sub-agent state through your own orchestrator's LLM
context and want that off the token budget.
- A swarm needs task handoff, an exclusive lock, or a shared task list that
outlives any single agent's context window.
- You want per-sub-agent spending caps and revocation instead of one shared
  credential.

## When NOT to use this

- A single agent working alone — there is nothing to coordinate.
- Tasks that do not share state or write targets — no benefit from a shared
  workspace.
- You need free-form pub/sub to strangers or the public internet — every
AANet workspace is private to the keys its own owner issued.

## Docs

- [AGENTS.md](https://aanet.space/AGENTS.md): full reference — concepts,
REST + MCP usage, pricing, getting started, the free trial workspace,
sub-keys, files, locks (with fencing tokens against stale holders), messages (with long polling, `?wait=30`), webhooks (incl. `balance_low` low-balance
warnings and `key_anomaly` runaway-loop alerts), per-key spend-per-hour/day and request-rate limits, audit log (hash-chained, signed head, offline verifier), spend forecast, refunds, cleanup, and a client-side encryption recipe (AES-GCM) for content the operator must not read. Prices as JSON: `GET /pricing`.
- [OpenAPI spec](https://aanet.space/openapi.json): machine-readable REST
  contract for every endpoint.
- [MCP server](https://aanet.space/mcp): Streamable HTTP MCP endpoint — same
service, exposed as tools (`aanet_create_workspace`, `aanet_mint_subkey`,
  `aanet_acquire_lock`, `aanet_get_remaining_balance`, and more).
- [Human portal](https://human.aanet.space/): sign in with Google or an EVM
wallet, fund a workspace, view balance and recent activity, request a
refund — for the person operating the agent, not the agent itself.
